Giant Skull Wasp
This variant on the standard Giant Wasp is thought to have developed it's unique appearance to ward off the hunters who kill them to harvest their venom. The venom of the Skull Wasp is far more subtle and insidious than the more common variety, and it is known to cause the disease Stinging Fever.
Like other Giant Wasps, they typically feed on large insects and small vertebrates. However, they will attack humanoids if disturbed, or if they are particularly hungry.

Sting. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature. Hit: 5 (1d6 + 2) piercing damage, and the target must make a DC 10 Constitution saving throw. If the target fails the saving throw they are inflicted with the disease Stinging Fever.
Stinging Fever
Upon contracting this disease, you begin to experience the symptoms within the hour. Your body temperature fluctuates rapidly, causing bouts of shivering and sweating, and you feel intense pain radiating from the site of the sting.
At the end of each long rest, you must make a DC 10 Constitution saving throw. On a failed saving throw, your hit point maximum is reduced by 1d4, and you take 1d4 poison damage. This reduction lasts until the disease is cured. If your hit point maximum is reduced to 0, you die.
After you have passed one saving throw, you no longer take a hit point reduction when failing a throw.
After you have passed your second saving throw, you no longer take damage when failing a throw.
Once you have passed three saving throws, the disease is cured, and your hit point maximum is no longer reduced. The disease can also be cured with magic such as the lesser restoration spell.
Creatures that are immune to poison damage are not affected by Stinging Fever.
